DipFA - Towards the future

DipFA training

By visiting this site, you are either an existing financial adviser or someone looking for financial training to enter our industry. Either way you are aware that the qualification standards are changing.

From December 2012 anyone who was deemed to be competent as at 30 June 2009 will need to hold a level 4 qualification, the Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA). If you are entering the industry you will be given 30 months to achieve this level (please note that this has still to be finally confirmed by the FSA).

DipFA is split into two units; unit one Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics is similar in many ways to the existing CeFA 1 module, in that it explores the commercial and regulatory financial services environment, the role and legal obligations of regulated advisers and the key concepts of risk and ethics. Whilst unit two, Advanced Financial Advice develops an understanding of specific products, principles and issues affecting clients.

According to the IFS the whole process is expected to take 9 months, so it is advisable to begin sooner rather than later. From October 2010, the objective test for unit one, 100 multiple choice questions sat at a Pearson Vue driving test theory centre, will be available upon "demand". This should cut the timeframe down for most delegates. What is not changing is that unit two will still allow 3 months for the coursework assignment (an "essay" style composition of approx. 2,500 words) to be completed, followed by 3 months study for the final written exam.

One of your first decisions is trying to decide which training provider to choose. You may well have little or no knowledge of financial services and the choice of training course providers can be bewildering. Here at UBERRIMAE FIDEI we believe that we are different from other providers, from the quality of our trainers, to the after course back up, to training courses throughout the country, to a residential course option, together with guaranteed small classes, all of this at competitve prices.

Many providers allow you to re-attend their courses for free should you need to and indeed, we make the same offer but how many are confident enough to guarantee that if you are not 100% satisfied with the training you have received all of your training fees will be refunded?

Our DipFA courses are specifically designed to take you from your present position to an understanding in an easy to learn way. What can seem to be difficult concepts are explained in a simplified manner and in plain English.

As well as helping you pass the exams one of the core elements to the course is making sense of money. We challenge you not to improve your own finances after attending our course. In fact we offer you our charity challenge; if we can not show you how to Save the Cost of the DipFA course then we will donate £25 to charity. If we are right and we can show you how to recoup the cost we ask you to donate £5.
